Our Local Curriculum
At Trinity All Saints Primary School, our 'Walking On Aire'
curriculum is designed to instil a deep sense of belonging and understanding in all our pupils, helping them connect with their local area and its rich heritage. By exploring the Aire Valley—from its source in Malham to its first main city, Leeds—we aim to immerse our children in the places, people, and key events that have shaped the region.
Our curriculum sits at the heart of both our Geography and History curriculums, exposing pupils to past and present issues that have impacted the Aire’s landscape and communities. Through regular fieldwork experiences, we ensure that each child, from EYFS to Year 6, has opportunities to explore, investigate, and interact with their local environment in a meaningful way.
By weaving together historical insights, geographical exploration, and hands-on experiences, 'Walking' On Aire' helps our pupils gain a strong sense of place, respect for the community, and a lasting appreciation for the importance of their local heritage.
