School Meals and Lunchtime Arrangements

Our cook takes pride in serving varied and nutritious meals at lunchtime.  Lunches are cooked every day in our own school kitchen.

Meals are paid for weekly on Monday mornings.  The correct money should be placed in an envelope with the child's name and class clearly marked on it and it is to be placed in the zipped envelope in the classroom at morning registration.  With effect from 1st January 2019 the meal price is £1.80 per day (£9.00 each week).  If you wish to pay by cheque, please make it payable to "Bradford Council ", and write the cheque card number on the back of the cheque.

Children may bring a packed lunch.  A drink of water is given to all children regardless of whether they have a dinner or bring a packed lunch.

If your child is going to be late and you still wish to order a dinner for your child, please ring and let us know as soon as possible.

It is expected that pupils will respond positively to all lunchtime staff as they would any other member of staff.  They deal with all lunchtime matters including first aid.

Children who cannot play safely at lunchtime will be asked to go home for their dinner.

We offer 1/3 pint carton of milk daily on the following basis:

  • Children in Nursery receive Free School Milk - this is automatically ordered by school so no action required.
  • Children in Reception aged 4 (who do not have their 5th birthday in the current term) receive Free School Milk. Please place order on ParentPay before the advised deadline for the current term.
  • Children in Reception aged 5 (or who turn 5 in the current term) and children in Year 1 to Year 6 receive subsidised milk and the cost depends on the number of weeks in the term. Information advising parents/carers of this option are published on ParentPay at the end of each term for the provision of milk for the following term. Orders and payment needs to be actioned on ParentParent before the advised deadline for the current term.
  •  If your child is entitled to Free School Meals (based on your circumstances and income, not the Universal Free Meal for all children in Key Stage 1), he/she will be entitled to Free School Milk.  Please place order on ParentPay before the advised deadline for the current term.

Milk is not automatically ordered (with the exception of Nursery). If your child would like milk please order through ParentPay by the advised deadline for the current term.  If you have not ordered by the deadline it will be presumed that your child does not require milk.  Please note that we are unable to amend the milk order after the deadline date.

Snacks at Playtime

At present, children up to the age of six receive a free piece of fruit or vegetable at playtime as part of the 'Free Fruit to School Campaign'. Children in Key Stage 2 (Year 3 to Year 6) are encouraged to bring a healthy snack, such as fruit or raw vegetables for their morning break.  As part of our Whole School Food Policy we are promoting the contents of a healthy lunch box for pupils and are discouraging parents/carers to include sweets, chocolate bars, crisps and fizzy drinks in a child's lunch box.
